Membership, loyalty points and the trouble with quoted offers
British casinos ran on membership long before they ran on apps, and the residue of that is still visible in how the chain talks to its customers. Grosvenor merged its casino brand with the separate Play Points brand in May 2012 to produce a single loyalty card, rolling the new plastic card out across thirty-five casinos as a first phase. Loyalty schemes and welcome offers are also the single most misreported thing about any gambling operator: the amounts change, the wagering conditions attached to them change more often, and guide sites copy each other's numbers for years after they stop being true. This page describes the mechanism and refuses to quote the figures.
What the words on an offer page actually mean
You can evaluate any promotion, from any operator, with four questions. None of them require you to trust a review site.
A loyalty card is a tracking instrument
It records play so the operator can rate it. That is not sinister β it is how tiers and comps are calculated β but it does mean the card is as much a measurement tool as a reward.
A "bonus code" is just a routing string
It attaches your account to one particular offer. It does not create value, and the same code can point at different terms in different months. The terms, not the code, are the thing to read.
Wagering requirements decide everything
An offer's headline number tells you almost nothing without the multiple attached to it, which games count toward it, and how long you have. Two offers with the same headline can be worlds apart.
Why there are no numbers on this page
We have not held an account with this operator and cannot verify any current offer. Printing an amount we have not seen in the operator's own terms would make this page look more useful and be less true.
Four questions to put to any offer before you accept it
- What is the wagering multiple, and is it applied to the bonus alone or to bonus plus deposit?
- Which games count toward the requirement, and at what percentage β table games are frequently discounted or excluded.
- What is the time limit, and does it start when you opt in or when the funds arrive?
- What is the maximum you can withdraw from winnings generated by the offer, if a cap exists at all?
